Biography
Kent Rush has had a great influence in the development of printmakng in San Antonio. He grew up in the Bay Area and studied with the realist Robert Bechtle at the California College of Arts and Crafts prior to studying with master printer Garo Antreasian at the University of New Mexico. In 1976, Rush moved to San Antonio to start the printmaking program at the San Antonio Art Institute. And, he taught at the University of Texas at San Antonio for more than 35 years before retiring in 2018. In 1998, Rush was the subject of a major retrospective at the McNay.
