Biography
Eldon Elder moved west from his birthplace in Atchison, Kansas to attend University of Denver, and then went east to the Yale School of Drama for his graduate degree. In addition to designs for productions on Broadway, opera, and television, Elder taught scene design at Brooklyn College. Elder strongly believed in the study of the history of scene design and in the application of this understanding to present day productions.
