A fashionable portrait painter, Christian Bérard is best known today as a fashion illustrator and theatre designer. He is represented in the Tobin Collection by designs for the Ballets Russes de Monte Carlo as well as designs for playwrights and choreographers including Jean Cocteau and Roland Petit.
