Further information
German-born Friedel Dzubas was primarily concerned with the communication of action and the human body in his abstract paintings. To achieve this, he often painted on a monumental scale. Dzubas once remarked,"[Large] paintings convey...intimacy, I think, despite their impersonal scale. They confide in the viewer with understated intensities of color and insinuating strokes of paint." The undulating brushstrokes and use of bold pigments in Untitled invite the viewer to meditate on the power of movement.
