Further information
In Western Color, Julian Stanczak painted an arrangement of seven large, diamond-shaped designs (parallelograms) stacked one above the other. These shapes, together with the use of vibrant color, give the optical illusion of depth, of translucent planes suspended over a shimmering grid of color. Stanczak applied colors ranging from bright pink to brownish orange in a hard-edged, flat style, concealing all brush marks.
