Further information
Dorothy Hood was born in Bryan, Texas, and broke conventional boundaries to become a successful artist with international acclaim. Her abstract paintings are inspired by aspects of nature and outer space that speak to human emotion, and often take on the appearance of earthly terrains or galactic expanses. Extensor of the Sky recalls the craggy interior of a cave, but its gravity-defying drips and glittering surface suggest an otherwordly dimension.
