Further information
For centuries charm bracelets have marked for the wearer important experiences and have been thought to ward off evil spirits. For San Antonio artist Katie Pell, creating a larger-than-life charm bracelet allowed her to confront interpersonal histories with her father and her maturation as a person. Pell’s choice to tremendously enlarge what is typically a small piece of jewelry compels the viewer to closely examine the importance of the bracelet and each charm.
