Further information
Carl Rice Embrey uses his recollections from growing up in the small town of Hamilton in Central Texas as inspriation for his paintings. Despite Embrey's nearly photographic style, Tomorrow's Light is not a faithful representation of his family's attic. Instead, Embrey reinterprets various elements from his personal experiences, including his Aunt Edith's easel. The result is a painting that has more in common with old memories than documentary photography.
