Further information
Sargent produced fewer than ten lithographs, only one of which was editioned. Only a few impressions of most Sargent prints were printed and given to his fellow artists and friends. Study of a Young Man (Standing) is typical of the artist's lithographic work in that it is a transfer lithograph that captures all of the subtle nuances of tone and economy of line of Sargent's draftsmanship. The print exists in three known impressions.
