Further information
Robert Indiana is typically associated with the Pop art movement along with artists Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. In 1965, New York's Museum of Modern Art commissioned Indiana to design a Christmas card, and he painted his iconic LOVE composition for the first time. Universally recognizable with its stacked composition of the letters, L and slanted O, over the V and E, this sculpture renders the original card design in three dimensions.
