Further information
Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Andy Warhol painted portraits of wealthy socialites, musicians, and film stars. The majority of his commissioned silkscreen paintings were the result of source photographs such as these. The artist’s one-of-a-kind Polaroids, which he grouped together in commercially produced photo albums, offer an intimate look at the individuals who frequented “The Factory” as well as various other people he encountered in New York.
