Further information
Pablo Picasso’s model and romantic muse, Marie-Thérèse Walter, lies relaxed and dreamy in an ambiguous angular setting. Picasso’s unconventional choice of soft greens and pale purples renders her skin luminous and lustrous. This nude is one in a series of miniature studies from 1932, a productive year for Picasso that included an idyllic summer relaxing with Marie-Thérèse and painting new, creative interpretations of the female form.
