Further information
"Nature generates her rich variety of forms. She teaches me geometry and I borrow shapes and colors, symmetries, rhythms, and ratios from her."
—Edna Andrade

Edna Andrade’s hypnotic painting Space Frame C is a dizzying yet ordered arrangement of interlocking geometric forms, executed in a simple color palette. Andrade, an early leader of the Op Art movement of the 1960s, used patterns and color to create optical illusions and challenge perception. Op Art used dynamic compositions that gave the impression of movement through bright, vibrating patterns or varied, warping forms.
