Further information
For the climax of Les Plaisirs de l'Ile Enchantée, Italian designer Carlo Vigarani created an outdoor stage setting consisting of a palace rising from a rocky island at the edge of a garden pool. Fireworks, which exploded upward like a cascading fountain, destroyed Alcine's palace and signaled that Roger had successfully broken free of the spell of her enchanted island and its illicit pleasures.
