Further information
Giulio Parigi's design for Il Solimano, commissioned by Grand Duke Cosimo II de Medici, employs one-point perspective. In Parigi's stage setting, which did not change from act to act, the vanishing lines of Renaissance-style buildings flanking the square lead the eye to an open portico at the exact center of the stage picture.
