Further information
Eastman mapped his August march from Camp Leona to San Antonio, marking the numerous waterways crossed on the journey. In San Antonio, at the top of the map, he labels the missions that he drew so frequently. This would be his last month in Texas. In early, September 1849, he was granted leave and left Texas for Washington, D.C.
