Further information
Eastman again followed the Pinta Trail on his return trip to San Antonio from Fredericksburg in March 1849. Soldiers are taking their rest. Rifles with bayonets affixed are stacked against each other, horses are grazing, and tents are pitched. Eastman's company could march over 20 miles in on day, fording rivers and crossing rough terrain.
