Further information
On the way to Fredericksburg, Texas, Eastman crossed the two branches of the Sister Creek, which converge in present-day Sisterdale (est. 1851) The area would have only had a handful of homesteads after being settled by a German engineer named Nicolas Zink in 1847. Zink potentially saw the advantage of having the Pinta Trail's crossing and rich bottomland of the Guadalupe on his expansive property.
