Further information
Amorous adventures take Alban Berg’s red-headed heroine, Lulu, from the gutter to the stage, a mansion, a prison, and back to the street again. In the process, Lulu is responsible for the deaths of five admirers, including Countess Geschwitz. Depressed to find her friend, Lulu, in a shabby garret, Countess Geschwitz contemplates suicide. She perishes, however, trying to defend Lulu from her final client, Jack the Ripper.
