Further information
Margaret Batts Tobin, an opera enthusiast like her son, Robert, sponsored the Metropolitan Opera's first production of Alban Berg's Lulu in 1977. To show their thanks, the original cast signed this poster. Donald Gramm, who sang the roles of Dr. Schon and Jack the Ripper, aptly summed up Margaret's contributions: "Without her, what would Lulu have ever done?"
