Musical with book by John LaTouche and Sam Locke, lyrics by John LaTouche, and music by James Mundy. Premiered at the Winter Garden Theatre, New York, 1955.
The Vamp, starring Carol Channing in the title role, was a musical spoof of the early days of the New York and Hollywood film industries. Cinemas, like "Hubbard's Movie House" in The Vamp, eventually displaced live theatres from Times Square.
